Ⅱー10:A picture to remember

"Is it bad luck or is somebody really trying yo hurt me?" (p.39)

This story started when the main character gets an important job of a museum.  She loves art and she works in a museum. One day, some Impressionist paintings comes from a museum of Paris to the museum, and the director asks her to work for them. She is feeling too good, which cases a motorbike accident. She lose her memory of the accident, but it brings a danger to her without her realizing. The truth is that she had seen two men who had a gun before she gets the traffic accident. The men thinks that she knows too much about them, so they tries to kill her. In fact, there is something in common between what she saw on the men and a painting which she likes. But, she doesn't have any memory of the accident, so she doesn't know what is different about the painting after the accident. He doesn't recognize the men's plan and continue to work....
when I read this book, I felt terror a little. Where you don't know, you are targeted for your life...Is there more fear than this?

Ⅱー09:Dead Cold

'Yeah, aren't you Lucky?' I said, smiling. (P.11)

This is a story about a woman who is a detective in a police. One day, a dead girl is found in a swimming pool in a small town of USA. Police officers think that she was killed by someone. In the past, the town was famous for silver and gold. And now, many people go on vacation there. It 's the last place where dead body is find. The detective is sent to the town to find the killer. But, in hear mind, there is another accident where her best friend was killed. She tries to find the fact of the dead girl which gets involves in the murder case of her partner...
I think this story is similar to a book of Cambridge English Readers. Do you know the series of 'Inspector Longan'? In the book, a woman who is not admitted by anyone at the beginning solves some incidents. Similarly, this book's protagonist is a woman, and she isn't like by men workers. The quotation show it. She is sent to the town where the accident happened, but the police officer of town doesn't like her, at first. When she sees men not smiling, she says such a line. She is a strong woman. The relationship of characters is so interesting. Therefore, please read both of the books, and find how their recognition have changed from the opening to ending. And of course, you can read the process bout resolution of cases. You might find some similarity and differences between two books!

Ⅱー08:One Day

It was just a normal Friday evening in Moreland Road.  That evening something happened which changed all of their lives. (from back cover)

In this book, there are four stories which happens in the same street of England.  People who live in the street  have some problems.  Foe example, these are about money, love or work etc. Every people worry their lives. Naturally, these have seemed to go to the solutions. But, one day, there is an accident, which changes all of their lives. If it had not happened, their live would be better...
When I read this book, the accident was like something bad in their lives, however, it's natural that we don't know what happens to our futures. So the accident might have been inevitable in their lives...
Then, what happens the accident is a cigarette one boy does. One person's action may affect on the other's lives. Therefore, this book is not only interesting but also teaching us something.

Ⅱー07:The man from nowhere

But There was a man in the hospital without a name, a man who came from nowhere. (p. 26)

What do you think of from the title of " the man from nowhere"?  Before I read this book, I thought that this was a mystery, and a man from a special world came to the earth. But, this story is so realistic. One day, a family have a trouble with their plane, and they got in trouble. The plane crushed into the sand, and the father and the mother hurt. The father decided to walk for helping, and walks in sand. But it is hard to walk in soft and deep sand. At last, he looses his consciousness and falls into the ground. Fortunately, a person finds him, but people don't know who the man is. So, from nowhere.
I think the distress in a hot and dry desert is so hard accident. The mother chooses to leave in the sand waiting some help with her son. But the father doesn't wait, and he walks for asking for help. which is better when we loose our way? I think the father is heroic because he does hard work of walking in desert with some hurt for his family.  When you read this book, please think such a thing.
