'Yeah, aren't you Lucky?' I said, smiling. (P.11)

This is a story about a woman who is a detective in a police. One day, a dead girl is found in a swimming pool in a small town of USA. Police officers think that she was killed by someone. In the past, the town was famous for silver and gold. And now, many people go on vacation there. It 's the last place where dead body is find. The detective is sent to the town to find the killer. But, in hear mind, there is another accident where her best friend was killed. She tries to find the fact of the dead girl which gets involves in the murder case of her partner...
I think this story is similar to a book of Cambridge English Readers. Do you know the series of 'Inspector Longan'? In the book, a woman who is not admitted by anyone at the beginning solves some incidents. Similarly, this book's protagonist is a woman, and she isn't like by men workers. The quotation show it. She is sent to the town where the accident happened, but the police officer of town doesn't like her, at first. When she sees men not smiling, she says such a line. She is a strong woman. The relationship of characters is so interesting. Therefore, please read both of the books, and find how their recognition have changed from the opening to ending. And of course, you can read the process bout resolution of cases. You might find some similarity and differences between two books!

  1. It's difficult incident, but I love mystery like this. Who is criminal? Why the criminal kill the girl? I want to know the story's climax, so I'll try to read this book! Your blog is so good, too!

  2. I know the Cambridge English Readers series has a series of stories such as Logan. In the level 3, the story plot became more and more difficult, so I have to repeat reading the book to understand it completely. I've never tried it, so I'm looking forward to reading it.
